While everyone was enjoying friends and family and stuffing themselves with turkey on Thursday afternoon, Lil Kim released a snippet of her diss track 'Black Friday' which is aimed at Nicki Minaj.
According to theboombox.com Beef has been brewing between the rival spitters for some time now
Lil Kim, who let's face it is a has been/never was. I mean really who honestly listens to Lil Kim. Even when she was "B.I.G." (yay for bad puns/jokes) she had a certain fan base that was never anything obscene. She was considered the "queen." Ok, so she was "the best" female rapper, good job. It would be impressive if there were actually a lot of female rappers. but there aren't many.
So Anyway, Lil Kim is accusing Nicki Minaj of "stealing" and "copying" her style. Ok Imma go with Nicki here, Lil Kim, the whore that she is, needs to stop being a sore loser and deal with it. She's obviously jealous because Minaj is more popular than she is and has similar style. But let be real here if every rapper sued other rappers for taking similar styles from them...well you can imagine.
So what do you think? whose side are you taking? Lil Kim? or Nicki Minaj?
Let me make your choice easier, one who is a new artists trying to sell some records and has a passion for making music, or a washed up slut who is trying to get back in the spot light and make subliminal disses out of fear and insecurity?

Music Review: Week of November 22
Ok so here is a review on the recent music of the past week
Pink Friday-Nicki Minaj
i was able to get this album last Wednesday and put simply it was very good. Granted Minaj is one of those who you either like or you don't. Minaj fans will enjoy it but haters will find it to be terrible. I personally think it has great flow and some really good songs. I did not really think Roman's Revenge was too good. Mostly i thought it just sounded like a woman speaking in a really creepy low voice. But Right Thru Me, and Im The Best are really good. You should definitely check those two out at the very least. Overall i would rate this album 3 stars.
My World's Acoustic-Justin Bieber
So this kid is really starting to grow on me now. I was surprised (and frankly kind of angry) that he won best artist at the American Music Awards on Sunday night, but his performance of Pray was quite moving and has possibly turned me into a fan. I liked this acoustic album mostly because its lower and i can turn it up without getting a headache from his high notes. But my favorites are One Time, That Should Be Me, Pray and Baby. I liked his little "rap" in baby too it was entertaining. i give it 3 stars.
thats pretty much it. there weren't too many notable singles and those were the only two albums that were worth mentioning.

Top Rappers Ever????
So lately i've been checking out these sites where people leave a comment of their top rappers ever. Some of these are really depressing. One put 50 Cent on his. Another had Gucci which almost made me cry. The worst was whoever put Jay-Z ahead of Biggie. So after seeing all of those i thought i'd make my own to see how outraged people are by mine.
1) Biggie (hands down, let's not pretend that Life after Death wasn't the best hip-hop album ever)
2) Eminem (for the sick lyrics, great flow [although i will say Encore was shit] and the best word play ever)
3) Lupe (great moving lyrics and an amazing flow, did i mention lyrics?)
4) Tupac (let's face it, as far as meaningful lyrics and inspiring lyrics to Tupac is the best)
5) Nas (best story raps, and great rhymes)
6) Snoop Dogg (original flow, and focuses on everything; lyrics, sound, flow etc.)
7) N.W.A. (because i couldnt leave out, Dre, Easy-E, Ice Cube)
8) Jay-Z (great influence on modern hip-hop and amazing early stuff)
9) Ghost Face (great story teller and he basically was WTC
10) Lil Wayne (ONLY because he represents the good side of modern day rap and tops the shit like Gucci, Soulja Boy, etc.)

Music Review: Week of 13 November
So aside from my weekly top 20, and now apparently weekly track packs, im gonna start giving a review on music in general of the week. This includes; new singles, albums, tours and stuff like that. sooo yea:
Here's some cool new music that has come out:
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy-Kanye West
-This is certainly a great album and despite the cover controversy the cover turned out pretty nice i guess. it's kinda weird but i dont know, i suppose it's pretty typical Kanye. (see cover here: http://tinyurl.com/mbdtfCover ) Some highlights of the album are: Of course the single Run Away which he performed at the VMA's along with 'Devil in A New Dress' ft Rick Ross. The track 'Monster' is also pretty good. So this album is definitely worth checking out if you havent already.
Man On The Moon II (Legend of Mr. Rager)-KiD CuDi
-KiD CuDi returns with his new killer album Man On The Moon II! This has been out for, what a week now? If you havent listened to it i suggest you do so. Granted i understand that CuDi certainly takes a certain mind set to enjoy but i think he has a nice mellow flow. It's an alright album but again it is CuDi so you'll either like it or you wont. Ashin Kusher was definitely my favorite on the album. Over all i would actually give this album 2 1/2 stars. Its not exactly what you would call "up-beat" and nothing you would "rock out to" at a dance or anything, but KiD CuDi fans should enjoy it.
Nelly 5.0-Nelly
-Nell's latest album Nelly 5.0 is a fantastic album. This CD has a ton of great tracks that make good late night tunes. It's got that pop genre flow and beat to it with some great vocals and melody. Obviously 'Just A Dream' will help sell it, but some songs to check out are; 'Nothing Without Her' 'Gone' 'Long Gone' and pretty much every track on this album. Each song has it's own personality and there is maybe one "bad" song on here. So without further ado i give this album a 5.0 ;) haha
Pray-Justin Bieber
-Ok so i think the puberty train definitely hit Justin Bieber harder and faster than he anticipated, but i personally think he sounds better with a lower voice. Maybe that's because i don't get head aches from his high pitched vocals, i dont know. But i do know that since puberty has finally hit this kid he sounds much better. Honestly i only truly like about 3 songs by this kid, but his new single 'Pray' is one of them. While it is not as up-beat and "popish" as his first single 'One Time' (the other song i like by him) Pray has a great chorus and vocals. His voice has certainly developed since 2009 when he sounded like a squealing chipmunk. It's a rather moving song so check it out if ya want.
SLR-Lupe Fiasco
-Perhaps Jay-Z shouldn't be so quick to claim the title 'Best Rapper Alive.' Lupe Fiasco recently made some noise with his new released single 'The Show Goes On' but if you havent heard his new leaked song 'SLR (Super Lupe Rap) then you should check it out ASAP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXwO8uLDvIM). More great Lupe lyrics with some great flow. Nothing against Hov, but Lupe's SLR is certainly blowing anything by him away, at least for right now. So go get it NOW!

The Source: Lil' Wayne and Drake Reuinite In Las Vegas
Last night Lil Wayne made a life appearance, his first since being released from prison on Thursday. The Source has more:
TheSource.com was on the scene for the last stop at Drake's Light Dreams and Nightmares in Las Vegas, Nevada. Drizzy Drake put on an inspired performance for the sold out crowd at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. The love for the recently liberated Lil' Wayne was apparent from the very beginning. However, after Drake and special guests Birdman, Tyga, and Lloyd all hit the stage; hope for a Lil' Wayne appearance seemed to fade on the Las Vegas crowd. However, after an intermission and another set for the ladies, Drizzy jumped into a performance of "Miss Me" where the crowd lost their collective minds. "It feels good to be back!" said Weezy once he caught a breath. "The hardest mofo that Martin Luther King died for to my right Drizzy, ain't nothing, nothing! NOTHING! like home!"
After Drake performed his final song of the night "Over," the gem of the Cash Money/Young Money crew brought out his entire OVO/YMCMB family and thanked them for helping him relaize all of his dreams on this tour.

Arguing with Idiots: Rap
So last night im on the phone and this person tells me that rap sucks. Ok so typical for most people to level that claim. But then she went further and insisted that (as she has said in the past) that its just people talking fast. She proceeded to say it takes no talent. We've all heard this claim before. its the same old argument everyone uses to bring down rap.
So my counterpoint was, "if rap is so easy, and take no talent freestyle for me." She said no which i expected. But seriously, its just people talking fast right, no talent required, its easy. She should be able to rap/ freestyle with no trouble at all.
OR is it that maybe she doesnt want to admit that yes maybe there is some talent behind rap and maybe the thought of having to freestyle and rap off the top of her dome made her realize that maybe rap isnt so easy after all. Besides all this, she told me a while back when i was trying to write a song, that i should write a rock song of something because writing rap songs are harder. ????? contradiction.
So there you go a typical argument with someone who clearly doesnt get it.
What do you think? is rap easy and take talent? or not?

Song of the Day: Love The Way You Lie Part 2
So after all the hype Love the Way You Lie Part 2 is finally here. In short, i think it is not at all what i thought it would be and a little disappointing. It's a good song but its kind of slow, and too much Rihanna. Eminem's part is ok but the lyrics (of his part) aren't "good" until the very end. I can see where girls might like it more but idk. I think part 1 was much better. Although i do like the slight alteration on how the chorus is sung by Rihanna. Overall i would give the song a B. Part 1 i would give an A-. So certainly a drop there.
But without further ado here it is. see for your self.
